Social Media Marketing Isn’t Overrated for Your Small Business
They didn’t prioritize social media strategy as an organization. When I implemented it for them? The sales did the talking.
You might be tempted to think that social media marketing is overrated. But if you’re a small business owner, I implore you to reconsider.
HERE ARE THE STATS:
Pew Research reports that in 2025, 50% of adults in the U.S. use Instagram, 71% use Facebook, and 84% use YouTube.
According to Forbes, “80% of consumers [make] buying decisions based on a friend’s social media post” adding that “the era of virtual word-of-mouth recommendations is in full effect.”
Social media—love it or hate it—plays a HUGE role in marketing today.
This is why I made it my mission to elevate the social media platforms of the nonprofit organization that hired me.
I refined their social media branding, did research specific to their industry, and worked hard to create effective content…and they saw results in their stores’ sales. So much so, they wanted social media to be prioritized even more.
Social media has a special way of REMINDING people—or showing people in the first place—that you exist. That you know what you’re doing. That you’re trustworthy. That you have an incredible product or service that meets their wants and needs. That you care about your customers or clients.
Social media marketing is POWERFUL. Don’t underestimate how it can build trust, awareness, and even sales for your business.
